Flaus promises a complete electric flossing in less than 60 seconds

Flossing your teeth every day can be a time-consuming and tedious task. The Flaus electric flosser aims to change that, reportedly allowing users to floss thoroughly and effortlessly in under a minute.

Much like an electric toothbrush, Flaus consists of a cylindrical body that holds a “disposable” brush head. Each head is in the form of a Y-shaped plastic fitting with a small strand of monofilament PTFE floss suspended between the two arms of the Y.

As the user pushes the floss between the teeth – No Fingers must be stuffed into the mouth – the head moves rapidly from side to side at a rate of 300 vibrations per second. This action is said to remove plaque and trapped food very quickly while also massaging the gums.

The device's lithium-ion battery provides two months of daily use on a 3.5-hour charge.

Flaus has an IPX7 waterproof rating, which means it can withstand submersion in 1 meter (3.3 feet) of water for 30 minutes

Flaus' designers say its head uses 95 percent less floss than traditional loose floss flossers, and it uses 30 percent less plastic than disposable floss picks.

What’s more, the plastic used in the head is recyclable. Buyers are advised to save a pile of used brush heads and then email Flaus, who will send them a prepaid shipping label to send the brush heads to a specialized oral care recycling facility.
