Free medical and dental care clinic comes to Boise State April 27-28

The Boise State University Dean of Students will host free clinics on April 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and April 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ExtraMile Arena. You can also participate. The clinic day on Saturday, April 27 is open to the Boise State community only.

Boise State will partner with ExtraMile Arena and Love Heals, a local nonprofit with clinics around the world. The free clinic will offer dental, medical and vision services. Dental services include exams, X-rays, fillings, extractions, sealants, tooth cleanings, oral health education and more. Dental professionals include board-certified dentists, oral surgeons, hygienists, dental assistants, and supervised dental students. Free eye exams are also provided, and glasses are mailed. Staff will also have medical professionals available to answer questions or inquiries.

Many students have limited access to health insurance, especially dental coverage, and medical and dental care often falls to the bottom of the priority list when it comes to managing basic needs,” said Michelle Cain, Student Basic Needs Resource Manager explain. “The University is pleased to offer a program to help individuals receive much-needed care to help ensure their success.”

Love Heals relies on healthcare professionals who donate their time and talents to care for others. Doctors, nurses, physician assistants, dentists, oral surgeons, hygienists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and healthcare students come together to meet the needs of patients.

The Love Healing Clinic is only possible through the participation of community volunteers and organizations. Those interested in volunteering can visit the volunteer website.
