UC Blue Ash to host annual event that provides free dental care for the community

Attendees can choose a free service—filling, extraction or cleaning. Patients requiring treatment are encouraged to arrive early and register on a first-come, first-served basis; participants must arrive before noon to register. Certain health conditions can prevent patients from receiving treatment at this event. For more information, visit the Community Dental Day website.

To date, UC Blue Ash Community Dental Day has provided free restorative care to more than 730 patients, with a total value of services valued at approximately $200,000.

“We are proud to continue hosting this annual event and providing dental care to those who need it most,” said Luke Burroughs, RDH, MPH, director of the UC Blue Ash Dental Hygiene Program. “Good dental health is an important component of our overall health that is often overlooked. Without the support of our sponsors, local dental care professionals, and dental hygiene program members who volunteer for this important initiative, none of this would be possible. It is impossible to achieve.

Sponsors for this year’s Community Dental Day include Dental Care Plus Group, Henry Schein and the 2020 Cal State Blue Ash Dental Hygiene Class.

UC Blue Ash’s Dental Hygiene Clinic is the largest of its kind in Ohio. It features 34 patient care stations equipped with the latest technology and dental care equipment.

The 513 Community Health Bus will also be operating on the UC Blue Ash campus during Community Dental Days to provide participants with information about social services available in Hamilton County.
